Features and specifications of the new Apple Watch WatchOS 7

 Apple introduced WatchOS 7 in 2020 June, and it's the latest operating system for the Apple Watch. Learn about the latest WatchOS 7 features and specifications.


WatchOS 7

It is considered one of the best updates as it brings several new features such as a program to track health, fitness, and style on the Apple Watch.

There's also a new feature for sharing watch faces and pinning watch faces that other people share in apps, messages, and websites.

Apple introduced several new watch faces, including:

  • Chronograph Pro with speedometer.
  • Memoji face.
  • Striped face in customizable colors.
  • GMT face displays multiple time zones and more.
  • There are also updates to some of the existing watch faces such as Images and X-Large.

WatchOS 7 features

WatchOS 7 includes the Sleep app, which provides sleep tracking and sleeps analysis capabilities in an easy-to-read chart. It also uses the accelerometer to detect minute movements associated with breathing, to tell if you're asleep or awake.

And it has provided a Wind Down feature that helps you create a bedtime routine with shortcuts to things like turning off the lights and opening the meditation app, and a sleep mode that automatically turns off the screen and turns on Do Not Disturb.

When you wake up, your Apple Watch can play soft sounds or wake you up with haptic vibrations.

It also provides a report on the weather and battery level so you can start the morning You'll receive a charged reminder when the battery is low and a full charge reminder to reduce the time without your watch.

And due to the Corona pandemic, Apple added a new feature to help wash hands, as it listens to the sound of water and then starts a 20-second timer to help wash hands for an appropriate period. It can also send a notification to remind you to wash your hands when you get home.

Other Features of WatchOS 7

Apple has renamed one of its apps, becoming Fitness. It updated its destination and added new exercises that include strength training, core exercises, and warm-ups.

WatchOS 7 also allows the Family Setup feature for children and the elderly to use the Apple Watch without a phone when their guardian sets it up for them.

In a family setting, multiple Apple Watches can be paired to a single iPhone, with parental controls included. There's an Apple Pay Cash option for kids, and there's a School time mode to make sure kids are on task during school hours.

In the Maps app, Apple has added directions for cyclists with maps that include elevation changes, stairs, bike lanes, and busy roads.

Siri also provides spoken translations that can be translated into 10 languages. All dictation is done on the device, making it faster and more reliable.

Siri Shortcuts can be accessed on Apple Watch and added as accessories.

The new operating system further protects hearing with a weekly listening notification and an automatic loud noise reduction option that sets a maximum headphone volume to prevent hearing loss.

  • Apple Watch Series (4, 5, 6, SE.
  • But it can't install on older versions of the Apple Watch.

The new operating system introduces Apple Fitness+, providing home workouts that people can do by measuring progress measured through Apple Watch.

Apple Watch can connect to your Apple TV, iPhone, or iPad when you perform a workout in the Fitness app so you can monitor your scores right on the screen.

watchOS 7.3.2 Update

Apple has participated in adding two types of WatchOS 7.3 updates for testing.

It also added a new setting for the Apple Watch called Time to Walk, which indicates that Apple may plan to add guided walking exercises in the beta version of watchOS 7.3. But this feature is not working at the moment.

New Destinations

There are seven new Apple Watch destination options in WatchOS 7, with most new destinations limited to Apple Watch Series 4 and later. Among those destinations are:

  • GMT: GMT Destination shows multiple time zones at once, also considering your physical location.
  • Count: The countdown destination allows you to start keeping track of the elapsed time by clicking on the frame.
  • Chronograph Pro: This destination was previously available in the beta of watchOS 7 and features multiple time scales (60, 30, 6, or 3 seconds) with an accelerometer to measure speed based on time travel over a specified distance.
  • Typography: Print destination displays numbers in three custom patterns and four different texts with each combination designed to perfectly fit the face.
  • Memoji: This destination brings animated Memoji to Apple Watch that reacts upon touch.

Apple strives to be distinguished by its distinctive watches, which contain many wonderful applications, which have earned it a high fan base racing to buy the latest designs from them.
