Google created Google Duo in 2016 and it's similar to Apple's FaceTime app. The application allows you to make video and audio calls between phones. And unlike FaceTime, which is only available for iOS devices, Google Duo is available for all iOS, Android, and PC platforms. What is Low-light mode in Google Duo and how does it work?
Google has introduced a low-light mode to Duo to help users communicate face-to-face even when lighting conditions aren't great.
Electric lighting is a big challenge in many places, as it prevents people from having face-to-face contact. People often light their homes with a single lamp when electricity is expensive, and even then, blackouts remain common in many areas, and people remain in the dark during the evening when many video calls occur with family and friends.
Even when electricity isn't an issue, many people just want to make a video call to say goodnight right before bed, stay with each other while they watch TV together, or just have a quick chat while out in the evening.
Google Duo's Low Light Mode works by adjusting video calls and chatting to make them visible and more visible in low light levels and brightening a person's face so the other person can see them more clearly.
How do you use Low-light mode in Google Duo?
To turn on Low-light mode in Google Duo you must follow these steps:
- First, make sure you have the latest version of the Google Duo app. If you don't have it, update the version and download the latest version.
- Then open the Google Duo app.
- Then type in the contact you want to make a video call with.
- Then tap on the sun/eclipse icon on the left of the screen.
- After that, the face of the person you are calling will appear brighter.
